About the Innkeepers
Bonnie and Andy invite you to experience the charm and Victorian elegance of Lanesboro accommodations. Bonnie purchased O’Leary’s Bed & Breakfast from its visionary founder Laury O’Leary in December of 1998. This magical place, with its beautifully restored and maintained rooms, all just minutes from the historic downtown Lanesboro, was (and still is) irresistible to them.
Like most Innkeepers, Bonnie and Andy took a circuitous route to their life in Lanesboro. They have diverse backgrounds. Bonnie is a Chicago native who spent every summer weekend of her youth playing softball (16-inch mind you) and swimming in the Handmacher backyard pool. After earning a degree in Computer Science from DePaul University Bonnie began her information technology career at Arthur Andersen in Chicago. Bonnie evolved from a software developer to leading software developers and is currently a project manager for Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota.
Andy was born and raised in Thunder Bay, Ontario, where he acquired his love for outdoor sports including cross country skiing, swimming, hunting and golf. His college years were spent in Grand Forks North Dakota earning a degree in Business Administration. He obtained his CPA license after graduation and settled in at a large regional accounting firm for more than a decade. Andy now owns his own accounting practice in Harmony, Minnesota. Andy’s love for outdoor sports remains, so don’t be surprised if you see your host dressed in camouflage clothing asking if you want to come along!
Bonnie is an avid athlete participating in running and triathlon events. She met Andy while triathlon training in the Rochester YMCA swimming pool. They literally swam into each other and fell in love. They were married in 2009 and both participate in running the bed and breakfast.
Bonnie and Andy look forward to sharing one of the best Lanesboro accommodations with you and are confident that you will be captivated by the essence of hospitality and comfort of their Bed and Breakfast inn.
